Chimney Cabinet
Here are some pictures from the cabinet that my brother made me for my birthday. I especially love how he did the shelving for the cabinet (see above pictures). He did such a great job and I couldn't be more happy with it!! I stained the inside of the cabinet and painted the outside with Rookwood Red. I distress some areas of the cabinet and then went over the areas with special walnut stain. I absolutely love my primitive cabinet!!
Cutting/Bread board
I seem to be in this old cutting/bread board phase. Since I from Nebraska, how could I not pick up this cutting/bread board!?!? And at only $2, I think it was meant to be!! Go Huskers!!
Project turned Treasure
I found this wooden heart while hunting for treasures one day. The price was right ($1)and I knew exactly what I was going to do with it. I love old cutting/bread boards that have character and this heart was going to resemble just that. This heart was unfinished when I picked it up. I stained it with a golden oak color and let it dry for a few days. Once the heart was dry, I painted the edges with a color called Rookwood Red (which is my new favorite color). I then distressed the edges and re-stained the sanded edges to give it the aged look. Couple coats of poly to finish the heart, and it's ready to find a home in my Valentine's display.

Lovely little treasure
I loved this when I saw it in the bag, but loved it even more when I realized all of the piece that came with it. This is definitely one of my best finds at only $3.99. I'm not sure of its age, but still love it anyways!!
